Goodwin and Charles Livingston Bull, decorations by Charles Edward Hopper, title printed in blue and black, copyright in blue, leaf of publisher's advertisements at end. Publisher's green vertically-ribbed cloth, front cover with 3 decorated panels in red, black and white of sled dogs and sled with title in gilt between the panels; spine lettered in gilt with a pictorial panel in red, black and white depicting Buck, pictorial endleaves, top edges gilt; minimal wear at corners. Publisher's blue-gray dust jacket, with lettering and illustrations printed in green; spine and upper margin of front cover a trifle faded. Housed in a cloth clamshell box, with a 4 pp. advertisement leaflet for Macmillan, with a blurb for The Call of the Wild on the first page, laid in. 

First edition, first issue, in the scarce dust jacket. A fine copy of London's best-known novel, The story of Buck, a pampered dog who, after a series of adventures and mis-adventures, ends up leading a pack of wolves.
