Original brown cloth decoratively ruled and stamped in blind, spine gilt-lettered, pale yellow endpapers; gilt bright, ends a little frayed, minor exposure at corners and along bottom edge. Half morocco case.

First edition, first issue with all the points of Nathaniel Hawthorne's an iconic tale of guilt and redemption set in Puritan Massachusetts.
