37 volumes, 8vo (219 x 149 mm). Half-titles, title-pages printed in red and black, numerous plates with captioned tissue guards. Publisher's navy cloth gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut and largely unopened, blue paper dust-jackets, printed paper spine labels; a few minor marginal tears to dust-jackets.


The Stormfield Edition, copy 554 of 1,024 sets, of which 1,000 were for sale. In addition to Clemens's writings, this edition includes his autobiography as well as a biography by, and Clemens's letters edited by, Albert Bigelow Paine. A pristine, unopened set.
