The present lot was originally owned by Kaare Berntsen, an Oslo-based gallerist and close personal friend of Harry Bertoia. It has remained in the family’s collection since the period. This work is a deeply sculptural and complex “welded form” is constructed from individual bronze rods welded together to create a three-dimensional contoured surface. The result is evocative of an other-worldly landscape and showcases the incredible technical ability of the artist.
