These wonderful candelabra are after a pair in the collects ion of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, by Jan Willem Burgers, The Hague, 1757. They formed part of what is known as the Service Hollandais, made for Carl Christian prince of Nassau-Weilberg 1735-1788. Carl Christian married in The Hague in 1760, Caroline of Orange-Nassau, daughter of William IV first hereditary stadholder of the all the United Provinces and Anne, daughter of George II, King of Great Britain.
