With a blue background and gold-leaf gilding, the handles with lion's head, marks and inscriptions: S 68 (year 1868) under the base of each vase, N under a close crown underlined with 68 indicating the year 1868 and with the mention : DECORE A SEVRES, in red inside of the neck of each vase ; DL in cursive script and 57 - 10, another mark under the base of each vase

For a similar model, see the celadon and gilt decor covered vase delivered to the Mobilier de la Couronne on 23 February 1863, then sent to the Tuileries Palace on 27 and 28 April 1863. It was then sent to the Palace of Fontainebleau on 28 September 1865 to serve in the small lounge of apartment no. 120, Cour des Princes (Fontainebleau, National Castle Museum, inv. F23398).
