22hl/hectare yield. 92% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc. 60% new wood. More than half of production went into the second wine. Vine- deleafing, bunch selection and canopy management all play their part in delivering the best possible raw material into the cellar. There was no chaptalisation at VCC. So healthy on the nose, with great fruit. And, on the palate, you literally bite into that fruit. There is such freshness in the glass that it makes you want to smile. A hint of coffee at the end, then great plum flavours fill the mouth. This is just superb wine, unhesitatingly one of my very top picks. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
