This drawing once belonged to Annette Milling whose parents owned and successfully ran the Squire Gallery, London. After the death of her father, Annette’s mother, Mercie, married William Wycliff Spooner, whose celebrated collection of British watercolours was bequeathed to the Courtauld Institute, London in 1967.
