rectangular, the lid fitted with a separate compartment containing a document holder, a pouch and a pencil holder including silver pencil, Asprey & Co. Ltd, Birmingham, 1925; the fitted interior containing a pair of fold-out binoculars by Carl Zeiss, Jena, on a black cord, the inside of the lid set with a mirror, gold-coloured clasp and small leather handle, stamped 'Asprey London', with an original race card from 22 April 1948.
