the body and cover chased with profiles of three caesars between panels of floral sprays, the cover with stylised swan finial on sheet-scrollwork, the rim engraved with a Hebrew inscription, on three ball feet

The Hebrew roughly translates as 'This embossed cup is a gift from the charity association to our teacher and Rabbi, the Judge Samuel, son of Rabbi Chaim. Rest In Peace, Ansbach, 1735.'
