An interesting collects ion of poems by the leading representative of German lyrical poetry in the mid nineteenth century. Some of the poems here are possibly among the very earliest that Geibel wrote. Geibel also wrote opera librettos, most notably for Schumann's Genoveva, Spohr and Bruch's Die Loreley (see Lot 48).
