Line and Space: Calligraphies from Medieval Islam, Harvard Art Museums, Cambridge, 1984.

Two other calligraphic designs by the same calligrapher have been sold in these rooms, 27 April 1982, lots 28 and 29. One was dated 1834 and recorded the scribe's nisba as Qazwini, the other was dated 1844. The text is Qur'an, part of verse 137 of Surah al-Baqarah (II).
