The second edition of Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect, by Robert Burns.
The first affordable edition of Burns' works. The Kilmarnock Burns was published in 1786 and is rare and costly. This is the second edition, the first with a portrait of the author, and in a handsome binding with a stellar provenance. An important edition: 27 pieces not included in the Kilmarnock are printed here for the first t.mes . This copy from the library of Grolier Club founder Robert Hoe, bound at the Club Bindery established in New York with artisans of the highest accomplishment.
