The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Replica Shoes 's. This work has been restored and should be hung in its current state. The canvas has a good Italian glue lining. The paint layer is stable. It is clean, retouched and varnished. Under ultraviolet light, one can see a retouch in the cheek of the figure in the upper center, and one in the jaw of the figure in the upper left. Otherwise, there are only a few isolated spots of retouching in her clothing and elsewhere under ultraviolet light. However, there is a rectangular restoration measuring about 3 by 2 inches in the right shoulder of Saint Sebastien not visible under ultraviolet light, and it is likely that there are other restorations beneath the slightly fluorescent varnish. There edges probably have been restored, particularly the top and left edge. While the retouching cannot all be positively identified, the condition seems to be good overall.
