Historic craquelure is visible throughout, consistent with the drying process, which adds depth and texture to the paint surface. Slight frame abrasion around the extreme edges which is typical in works from this period. The artist's technique of using a roller has created a gradated and marbelised paint surface. There is minor discolouration and staining, most notably in the lower left corner. This work has recently been cleaned and lightly varnished, with minor retouchings made to the surface, by a professional restorer, only visible under UV light. The painting is in good overall condition. An independent professional restorer's report is available upon request. UV LIGHT: Retouching is visible around the extremities of the painting and in scattered areas in the upper right and upper left, under UV light. A 12 inch diagonal line of retouching also fluoresces in the lower right with a few further spots visible centre left. Scattered drips of old varnish are also visible under UV light.
