fashioned with a craggy mountainscape, the front depicting a scholar with his attendant bearing gifts, strolling in a rocky landscape amongst towering pine trees and pavilions, below scrolling clouds, the reverse carved similarly with large rocky cliffs with a deer below a lone tree, the stone of a pale celadon tone accentuated with grey highlights

Condition

This carving is in general good condition with the exception of a small indented bruise on top (approx. diameter 1 cm), and tiny nicks to the extremities. There are some natural fissure in the stone.
