The following condition report has been prepared by Hamish Dewar Ltd., 13 and 14 Mason's Yard, St James', London, SW1Y 6BU: UNCONDITIONAL AND WITHOUT PREJUDICE Structural Condition The canvas has been lined and this is ensuring a sound and secure structural support. Paint Surface The paint surface has an even varnish layer. Inspection under ultraviolet light shows carefully applied retouchings predominantly around the framing edges and in particular in the upper left and upper right corners. There are also some small scattered spots and thin lines filling craquelure. There is a larger area of retouching in the mountains near to the centre of the composition and other scattered retouchings. Summary The painting would therefore appear to be in very good and stable condition and no further work is required.
