Condition

This looking glass is in reasonable condition, with faint traces of old woodworm which appears to be no longer active. The underside of the upper left moulding is missing, as is the carving that would have been applied to its cresting. The applied carving decoration on the bottom left end is also missing. Minor fading to the mahogany and minor losses to the veneer of the detachable stand. The lacquered and paint side table is in distressed condition, with losses throughout and traces of old woodworm. The top is detached, and so is its surround. There are evident losses to the painted decoration of the legs. Both firescreens are also in distressed condition. Although overall stable, they display marks and scratches, overall wear and tear to the tapestry and canvas respectively. The two side chairs with marks, scratches and signs of old woodworm. One with some movement to the joints. The upholstery is faded. The armchair, with attractively carved motifs in reasonable original condition, is however missing its seat and will need re-upholstering. This piece is also with minor traces of old woodworm. All the above pieces would greatly benefit from some professional attention and cleaning.
