Condition
The canvas has an old relining. The paint surface is stable with a discoloured varnish and some small surface scuffs. There are three small repaired damages to the left of the figure’s head, each measuring approximately 1 cm. in diameter, a small loss on the upper central margin and a small patch of wear to the right of the medallion. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no major repairs, though there are some old localised strengthenings in the sitter’s hair and clothing. Offered in a carved gilt wood frame in good condition.
