the arched padded back bearing the House of Savoy coat of arms, within a moulded frame carved with foliage and rocaille, upholstered with red velvet
Condition
This very decorative armchair is in reasonable original condition, with marks, scratches and minor losses consistent with age and use and traces of old woodworm which appears to be no longer active. There is some movement to the coat of arms on the cresting of the backrest, and part of the applied decoration to the left side of the backrest is missing. There are further minor losses to the gilt decoration on the front of the chair. The gilding is worn in places. The original velvet upholstery is also worn in places. There is some very light movement on the left armrest.The piece would greatly benefit from some attention.
