Description

  • pottery - faience
  • approximately 40.5cm., 15 7/8 in. wide, 35.5cm., 10in. high
of oval form on four paw feet, moulded with scroll-edged cartouches picked out in dark puce, reserving sprays of painted flowers, the domed cover affixed with a finial modelled as a hound resting on its haunches, the base with two leopard handles at sides, VP marks in dark puce and black and numeral 10 to underside of base and cover,

Condition

In overall good appearance. The neck of the hound finial has been repaired. There are some typical minor flakes to enamels at extremities of leopard handles.
