Description
- Silver, Ivory
- coffee biggin 29.8cm., 11 3/4 in. high
comprising: coffee biggin on lampstand, teapot, sugar bowl, and milk jug; the circular bodies with tongue and dart rims, cast and chased with a frieze of scrolling anthemions above demi-fluting, the ivory handle pots with serpent junctions, the sugar and cream with Minerva capped scrolling handles, engraved with a crest and a coat-of-arms
Condition
The hallmarks rubbed and partially legible to the two pots, otherwise good. All stamped with inventory mark '121' to underside. The ivory handles with black striations and glued repair to knot in biggin handle. The engraving is crisp as is the gilding. Otherwise light surface wear throughout.
