the first, oval, the lid inset with a later plaque painted with pastoral lovers, enamelled in translucent orange over bead engine-turning within chased borders of red flowers with green leaves and opalescent beads, maker's mark [?]BB, possibly for Jean-Baptiste Beckers, charge and discharge of Henri Clavel, Paris, 1779, 7cm., 2 3/4 in.; the second, unmarked, probably Hanau, circa 1780, oval, the lid inset with a later plaque depicting a couple playing Collin-Maillard, scarlet enamel over engine-turned ornament within chased borders of blue flowers and green leaves, 7.3cm., 2 7/8 in. ; the third, rectangular, maker's mark GW and two wheels, German, early 19th century, the lid painted en plein with lovers by the Altar of Love, the borders, sides and base spotted in black on deep turquoise within white and gold borders, 7.5cm. 3 in. wide
