- Three gold snuff boxes, German and French, 19th century
- gold
two rectangular, the first of pocket-fitting form, Charles Collins & Söhne, Hanau, circa 1820, contemporary Prague control mark, 8.6cm., 3 3/8 in. wide, the other, two-colour gold, maker's mark T crowned twice, probably German, early 19th century, 8.6cm., 3 3/8 in. wide; the third, circular, maker's mark of Nicolas Lecoufle & L.A. Baudin, Paris, 3eme titre et garantie, 1809-1819, 7.5cm., 3in. diameter
Condition
1. all marks partially erased. good condition overall, 78gr.
2. joined on the front and repair to one corner, hinge tight, 62.3gr.
3. extensively re-soldered around the rims which might explain the two maker's marks. Lecoufle entered his mark in 1801 while L. A. Baudin entered his mark in 1810, 75.8gr.

It is most unusual to find two near contemporary Paris maker's marks on a box; one can only conclude, given the repair work on the box, that it was considered necessary to re-mark it afterwards.
