Condition
This work is in good condition, taking its age and the method of its construction into account. The media layer is stable overall. Small losses are scattered throughout the work, which are clearly visible in the photograph/catalogue illustration of the work. One mother of pearl element is missing from the spray of the fountain in the center of the composition, however, the rest of these elements are accounted for and appear to be securely affixed to the board. The brown floor area in the lower right and lower center quadrants of the composition appears to have been retouched. Frame abrasion is present along each of the four edges of the work, although it is most noticeable along the bottom edge. We recommend that any potential bidders contact a professional art conservator to create a full condition report on this work.
