Catalogue Note
With a letter dated 1943 from A. Hunt, formerly a shipper in South Africa, presenting the book to "Miss Churchill". On the endleaf it is inscribed by Mary Churchill: "Read March 1946 and again February 1976". Clearly this travelogue of Churchill's 1907 pilgrimage to Uganda and East Africa, the only work of his to be illustrated with his own photographs, was one of Mary's favourites.
