  • mahogany, close-nailed suede
  • Made circa 1750.

Condition

In Country House condition. This chair has been well used and there are old repairs and marks throughout. The timber is of a faded appearance. The top rail with a restored break to the right. All 'ladder-back' supports have cracks on the left and right and the lower support has a loss on the right. The lower support is loose. There are crude repairs, traces of glue and damage at these sites. The back left leg has a hairline crack. The upholstery is stained and could benefit from cleaning. he chair is slightly unstable. There are marks, scratches and stains consistent with age and use.
