Condition

This work is in good condition overall. There is a slight undulation to the sheet, inherent to the artist's working method. There are scattered areas of stable craquelure on the left half of the sheet where the oil was applied more thickly. At the bottom edge to the left of center and in the upper left hand corner, a small area of craquelure has resulted in some slight paint loss, exposing the underlying layers of paint. Upon close inspection of the bottom edge, there is a 1/8-inch crease approximately 1ΒΌ-inch from the left edge. Also upon close inspection, there are scattered light surface abrasions. The sheet is hinged verso to the matte at the corners. Framed under Plexiglas.
