The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This painting on canvas has been lined onto a solid support, which in turn has been backed with linen and reattached to the original stretcher. While this is a slightly unusual method of support, it certainly provides a healthy surface and there is no reason to reverse this. The only retouches to the paint layer are very fine touches to reduce cracking in the lower left sky. The remainder of the paint layer is in particularly good condition.
