Description

  • Parrot Lamp
  • the base marked CHAPELLE Nancy
  • blown glass in patinated iron armature on marble base
  • height: 48 cm., 17 3/4 in.
  • Executed circa 1920.

Condition

Three chips to the edge of glass conceiled by the tail, one extending into internal fracture, almost invisible but can be seen at the bottom of the bird's body when the light is lit. Black finish to bird's feet and lower body could have been refreshed. Some breaks to cage mount to body and just above bird's beak. Traces of rust to top of cage mount. Superficial dirt over the entire surface. Not tested or guaranteed for electricity. Richly coloured, well modeled.
