Condition

Overall the condition of the wood is good, with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The sculpture is carved in sections and joints are visible. There are four main sections: the three figures and the base. Each of these itself is composed of sections. The left bound figure detaches from the base. There are various small losses including to the ground around the seated figures' feet. There may be some restorations and some of the sections have been reattached (such as at the left figure's proper left arm). Some of the joints are open but stable, including the joint running through the legs of the left bound figure. There is minor splitting to the wood, consistent with material, such as at the left figure's proper right hip. There are two pins behind the tree trunk. The devil's wings have probably been reattached and are loose. The left figure's proper right hand is detached.
