Condition

The movement is running at the t.mes of cataloguing, however it would benefit from a service. Enamel dial with small chip to the winding hole, the hand for the duodecimal t.mes is loose. The case is scuffed throughout and has a crack to the edge of the rear cover.

Catalogue Note

On the 21st September 1792 the French republican government abolished the Monarchy and the use of the Gregorian calendar. The 'French Revolutionary t.mes ' or Decimal t.mes divides the day into 10 decimal hours, each decimal hour into 100 decimal minutes and each decimal minute into 100 decimal seconds, as opposed to the more familiar standard t.mes , which divides the day into 24 hours, each hour into 60 minutes and each minute into 60 seconds.
