D'une grande qualité d'exécution - en particulier dans le mouvement incertain et la finesse remarquable de la paroi convexe - ce bouclier se distingue également par la rareté et la beauté de son décor gravé, alternant, de face, registres de sillons obliques et ondulés, et au dos, de sillons perpendiculaires. A la face convexe répond le mouvement ondulé de la poignée sculptée en saillie. Superbe patine, profonde, jouant sur les nuances du bois brun et les rehauts d'ocre rouge.
