The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be fairly good condition. There is some scattered visible retouching overall, predominantly in the background, and the pigment is starting to flake in places.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light confirms the condition mentioned above and reveals further old retouching scattered overall but predominantly in the background on the left and in the lower section of the cost.mes
. UV also reveals an opaque varnish overall.
FRAME
Held in a wooden carved and silver painted frame.
