Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has not been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in good overall condition, however there are some very minor flecks of paint loss in the upper right and upper left caused by minor flaking. There is evidence of an old vertical repaired tear measuring approx. 8 cm. to the right of the sitter's shoulder. There are several minor scattered abrasions to the upper right and to the top of the canvas edge.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a dicoloured varnish overall and a few very very minor scattered retouchings.

Held in a gilt wood frame.
