Kathleen Raine, nine autograph letters signed, mostly written to Greene at Eyre and Spottiswoode, on her writing career including publishing houses, writing awards, and her application for a job with the British Council, 20 pages, n.d [mostly 1940s].; Herbert Read, 22 letters (10 autograph, the remainder typed), the early letters written from Routledge & Kegan Paul and on publishing matters, later correspondence with extensive discussion of a trip to the Caribbean (including Cuba and Haiti) and commenting on rereading the Comedians after visiting Haiti, also discussing a planned trip to visit Greene in Capri, the Vietnam War, and other subjects, several letters written from hospital during his final illness, 38 pages, 1935-68, together with three letters by his wife Margaret ("Ludo"), 1968-73; other writers in a bundle of c.105 letters, by Anthony Powell (3), Malcolm Muggeridge (12), Geoffrey Grigson (6), Peter Quennell (7 letters and manuscripts), Peter Fleming (3), Theodora Benson (5), G.B. Stern (5), V.S. Pritchett, Arthur Calder-Marshall (7), David Garnett, Joseph Gordon Macleod (2, one congratulating him on his engagement, 1925), Sean O'Faolain (4), Osbert Lancaster, Antonia White (5), Vernon Bartlett (on dramatising The Man Within), Adrian Bell (4) Laurens van der Post, Vivien Leigh (2), Princess Victoria Eugenia of Bettenberg, and others, many relating to submissions to Night and Day, also including several responses to The Power and the Glory, with a few retained copies of replies by Greene, 1925-1991 (but mostly 1930s), with a list of correspondents
