Condition

Overall in very good original condition. The screen is decorated with both raised and incised decoration. Please note that the present lot is decorated on two sides, and please contact the department at 212-606-7170 or refer to Replica Shoes s.com for a photograph of the side not illustrated in auction catalogue. Overall the screen showing minor wear to the gold surfaces, with minor losses at edges, scratches and rubbings throughout. Some of the edge losses reveal the white under layer. Most of the wear to the screen is isolated to the edges of the panels and adjacent to the hardware and does not impact the decorative scheme of the work. With some minor old surface restorations to the screen. With one area of concentrated restorations to the side of the screen not shown in the catalogue illustration to the middle of the panel second in from the proper left side. This area currently presents slightly darker in color, likely the result of overpainting, with a darken discoloration to the center, which likely fills a loss. The overall appearance of the restoration is minor, and does not impact a decorated portion of the screen. If one desires, professional restoration could minimize these restorations. With minor looseness to the hinges. A very good example of Jallot’s lacquered screen work, displaying two high detailed and related stylized designs. All hardware appears original.
