Overall in very good condition. The favrile blown-out glass appears to be original and undisturbed, and is in very good condition with no visible cracks. With ink staining along the recessed shoulder, and with a few small scattered ink droplets to the bronze surfaces below. The patinated bronze surfaces show gentle wear and rubbings . The interior inkwell and underside of the hinged top with ink staining, surface soiling, and light oxidation. With a period clear glass inkwell liner with a few small edge chips and flecks. The colors of the patina and favrile glass are richer and more vibrant than in the catalogue illustration (which is slightly dark). A fine example of this rare inkstand model displaying a particularly rich russet brown patina and vibrant green glass.
