Condition

This work is in good condition overall. There is scattered slight soiling and handling marks on the edges of the canvas that are most prominent along the top center edge. There is a pin point puncture to the canvas located 5 1/8 in. from the top and 2 in. from the right with slight attendant cracking. The puncture does not go entirely through the canvas. On the right edge there is a small retouched loss located 6 ¼ - 6 ½ in. from the top edge that slightly fluoresces under ultraviolet light. There are scattered minor scuffs at the top and bottom right corners. There is a tiny loss located 1 ¼ in. from the bottom and 5 ¼ in. from the right. There is a diagonal area of paint application that appears to be over an abrasion located 3 ½ - 5 in. from the top and 2 1/8 – 3 in. from the left. Under ultraviolet light this area fluoresces white and seems to have been done in the artist's studio. The canvas is unframed.

Catalogue Note

"I like money on the wall. Say you were going to buy a $200,000 painting. I think you should take that money, tie it up, and hang it on the wall. Then when someone visited you, the first thing they would see is the money on the wall.''  Andy Warhol
