Catalogue Note
These stirrups display a closely worked floral design on both sides in contour reservée technique, which stems from the Mamluk style of the fifteenth century. The framed medallions, floral scrolls and arched foot design are typical of the Ottoman period of the seventeenth century and later. An almost identical pair has been published in Mohamed 2007, p.357.
