De la forêt de cheveux alignés avec soin surgit, à chacune des extrémités et au centre, une tête d'udoq - monstre ayant le pouvoir d'écarter les esprits malfaisants. Le superbe trait.mes nt de la face interne présente une rare représentation d'êtres surnaturels aux yeux multiples. Il porte sur la poignée un numéro d'inventaire inscrit à l'encre blanche "1.488". cf. Feldman (1985 : 113) pour un bouclier de qualité comparable dans les collects ions du UCLA Museum of Cultural History. L'exceptionnel état de conservation, l'ancienneté de la provenance, et la rareté de son iconographie en font l'un des plus beaux exemples du corpus des boucliers kliau Dayak.
