a complete set, comprising a thirty-two plate suji bachi helmet bowl with a large steep mabizashi (visor), the five-stage shakudo tehen kanamono with gilt three line shinodare, the large four-stage lacquered lobed shikoro (neck guard) extended to large fukigaeshi with shakudo mitsudomoe (comma) mon (family crest), the maedate (helmet frontal decoration) in the form of a small shakudo rectangular plate with Genji mon, the helmet fitted with a later pair of large red-lacquered gamahada (frog skin) wakidate (side decoration), the fine vermillion-lacquered iron mask of tobi (bird) -type with a pointed detachable beak, fitted with yadome (arrow protector), parts of moustache and beard in black lacquer, fitted with kiritsuke kozane simple yodarekake (throat protector), the iron nimai okegawa do (cuirass) with top section in kiritsuke kozane, the iron body with shakudo stitch marks, a hinged small open door to lower right, a pair of lacquer gyoyo with mitsudomoe mon en suite, fitted with seven statge kusazuri (hip guards), a pair of chu-sode (shoulder guards) and hyotan gote (arm guards) and a Iyo lacquer haidate (thigh protector) and a pair of suneate (shin guards)
Condition
Helmet - There is slight cracks on lacquer, the horn decorations are later addition.
Mask - There are slight cracks on the cheeks and on the chin.
Cuirass - In good condition except for some chips on tip of the kozane.
Arm guards - Slight rust on the iron.
Shoulder guards - There are usual cracks but in good condition
Thigh guards - Some plates are warped but all the pieces are there and in good condition.
