There is one tiny firing flaw and glaze flaw of 1 mm on the exterior side. The mouth rim has unusual traces of gilding. One tiny indent to the interior well, possibly from firing flaw. In good overall condition.

According to Rose Kerr in Chinese Ceramics: Porcelain of the Qing Dynasty 1644-1911, Chicago, 1998, the yellow palette used for porcelains was "enlarged to include an opaque, brilliant lemon tone produced by using a lead-antimony enamel also containing zinc. For the same reasons as for the bright lime green, this startling color was not manufactured for long."

This cup is unusually small.
