Colour:
The colours in the illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is richer and deeper, with the white in the paper tending more towards cream, the blue more to electric ultramarine blue in the original.
The catalogue illustration does not fully convey the rich texture present in the original, particularly to the figure's rendition.

This work is in very good condition. The sheet is slightly t.mes
-stained evenly throughout. There is very light wear to all four extreme outer edges revealing passages of paper thinning and associated paper loss. There are several tiny scattered spots of foxing throughout the sheet and a small lifting crease at the extreme lower left hand corner. There is a light black media mark at the centre of the top edge; a further mark to the right of the left compositional element and a further mark to the centre of the extreme left edge, which would all appear to be intrinsic to the artist's working process.
