on shaped circular bases with an outer widely-fluted border, the spirally fluted baluster stems with shells at shoulders, widely-fluted campana form sconces, all decorated with quilting, bases engraved with contemporary arms in rococo cartouches, underside of two engraved C*F, marked on bases and with scratch weights, sconces and nozzles notch numbered, nozzles unmarked

The arms are probably those of Freeman.

A very similar quilted model was produced by Paul de Lamerie in the later years of his life.   A set of four 1750 Lamerie quilted candlesticks with a pair of two-light branches were sold at Replica Shoes 's, New York on 24 October 2000, lot 394.
