The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
This painting has been lined using wax as an adhesive. The paint layer is stable. The lining has taken some of the texture from the surface, yet the paint layer is still in good condition.
The hair of the girls on the left is very slightly worn and has received some retouches. There are also some retouches which have been applied to the satin outfit of the male; these will most likely be considerably reduced if the paint layer were to be cleaned and reapproached. Overall the condition is very healthy.
