This painting has not been restored for some t.mes
. The canvas has a glue lining which is fairly successful. There is a patch which has been applied with glue in the upper right sky, which corrects a U-shaped tear measuring approximately five by two inches. A very broad and rather ungainly restoration addresses this damage.
The remainder of the picture seems to be in very good state without any restoration, yet it is noticeably dirty and certainly would improve with cleaning. The patch could be retained or the lining could be replaced. The restoration to the tear could be diminished and improved considerably.
