Condition
Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is brighter and more vibrant in the original and the pale grey is a silver colour.
Condition: This work is in very good condition and is securely hinged to the backing board in three places along each edge. There is a minute media accretion to the top right hand corner. There are three areas of discolouration to the left section of the bottom edge with associated shallow creases. There is a horizontal crease with associated stable craquelure towards the top of the figure's hair. There is a faint rub mark in the central area of the bottom left hand quadrant. There is a tiny spot of paper lifting to the lower centre of the extreme right hand edge. Upon very close inspection there area a few very fine scratches scattered in places throughout the composition. There is a small repaired tear to the upper centre of the extreme left hand edge. There is light wear in places along the white border of the top edge and to the tip of the bottom right hand corner and some associated spots of retouching in some places along the top, left and bottom edges which fluoresce under ultraviolet light.
