Condition

Colours: The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration, although the tonality of the sand is slightly brighter in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to convey the rich varied textures of the grainy sand, steel and the shiny gold patina in the original. Condition: The work is in very good condition. There is some slight rubbings to the lower part of the vertical rod. Some light oxidisation is visible on close inspection to the recesses and edges to the steel and to the recesses of the bronze. There is a small indentation to the right side of the sand dunes at the back of the catalogue illustration and a few further minor irregularities to the sand surface. Each of the four corners is slightly rubbed and there are rub marks with paint flaking and lifting to the extreme side edges of the base.
