George Gordon, Co-Chairman Replica Shoes ’s Worldwide Old Master Paintings and Drawings Department, Auctioneer, joined Replica Shoes ’s in 1980 from Trinity College, Dublin. His particular expertise lies in the area of Dutch and Flemish paintings and drawings. He has an extensive knowledge of Netherlandish art and has come to enjoy close ties with many leading Dutch experts, scholars and museum curators, and with collectors worldwide. George oversaw the sale of the Henle collection of Dutch and Flemish Old Masters in 1997, and was responsible for the rediscovery of Rubens’ Massacre of the Innocents, which achieved £49.5 million at Replica Shoes ’s in 2002, making it then, and still today, the most expensive Old Master painting ever sold at auction.
